YLC 2020 EARLY Registration opens Sept. 16, 2019
Student Government at the University of Florida is the second-largest SG organization in the U.S., with a rich tradition of fostering the nation’s finest leaders. The Young Leaders Conference is a three-day high school leadership conference organized and run entirely by qualified UF students. As an organization dedicated to the development of successful leaders, we are proud to sponsor the annual Young Leaders Conference, to be held February 7-9, 2020, in Gainesville, Florida. Nominate outstanding leaders from the freshman to the senior level as delegates to represent your school for this year’s conference.
This conference will bring together the most outstanding leaders from all over the state of Florida at UF for extensive leadership development. Interactive workshops and seminars based on “The Leadership Challenge” (Kouzes & Posner, 2007) will allow participants to improve their leadership theory and experiences. The focus will be on the five practices of exemplary leadership as identified in “The Leadership Challenge”: Model the Way, Inspire a Shared Vision, Challenge the Process, Enable Others to Act, and Encourage the Heart. Students will attend presentations and workshops given by UF student leaders and administrators. In addition, they will have the opportunity to engage in several team-building and service-learning activities designed to challenge each student’s leadership abilities and enrich their character.
The conference cost during regular registration is $290. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
