John Brinkman is a graduate student currently pursuing a Master of Science in Management, and he completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Florida, triple majoring in Economics, Political Science, and Philosophy. He grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Before being elected Student Body President, he held many roles in Student Government, such as Senate President, Judiciary Chairman, Budget & Appropriations Vice-Chairman, and Junior Class President. Besides his roles in Student Government, he also served as Vice President of External Affairs for Florida Blue Key and has held many roles working directly with university faculty and staff. John has long been a longtime advocate for the student body and is honored to represent over 60,000 Gators.

Laura Thomas

Laura Thomas is a fourth-year majoring in Criminology with double minors in Anthropology and Sociology of Social Justice and Policy. She spent most of her life in Suwanee, Georgia but is originally from Piscataway, New Jersey. Prior to being elected as Student Body Vice President, she served as President of the Black Student Union after serving as the Black History Month Director and member of the Leadership Development Institute within BSU. She also served as a Reitz Scholar, Faculty Senate, and as a Director of Programming for the Freshman Leadership Council. Complementing her role as Vice President, she serves as a Lead Scholar for the Reitz Scholar Program, a proud member of Florida Blue Key, and within her sorority the Iota Lambda Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.

Saketh Demera

Saketh Damera is a fourth-year double major in Public Health and Economics on a pre-med track. He is from Tampa, Florida. Prior to being elected Student Body Treasurer, Saketh served as the Senate President Pro-tempore for the Student Senate, Chair of the Reitz Union Board of Managers, Public Health and Health Professions Senator, and a member of the senate Budget and Appropriations committee. Outside of Student Government, he has played an active role in Dream Team at UF, The Indian Student’s Association, Asian American Student Union, and more. Saketh is a proud member of Florida Blue Key, and a Reitz Scholar.
