Daintry Cleary
Director.
Daintry attended Middlebury College in Vermont where she graduated cum laude. She
later went to law school at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, receiving
her Juris Doctor with Honors. She was an editor of the law review and a member of
the Order of the Coif. After graduation, Mrs. Cleary worked as a litigation attorney
in Tampa, Florida at Holland and Knight where she specialized in complex commercial
litigation, then at Lau Lane, Pieper, Conley and McCreadie, P.A., specializing in
maritime law. Mrs. Cleary was certified as both a family and community mediator.
Daintry returned to Gainesville in 2000 and has been Director of Student Legal Services
since then.

Alisha P. Tabag
Assistant Director.
Alisha was born and raised in Key West, Florida. She attended the University of
Florida as an undergraduate from August 1984 through August 1988, receiving a Bachelor’s
of Art in Sociology. After working for a year and half, Ms. Tabag started law school
at the University of Florida College of Law in January 1990. She received her Juris
Doctor degree in December 1992. Ms. Tabag has been a member of the Florida Bar and
an attorney at Student Legal Services since 1993.

William D. Mercer Jr.
Assistant General Counsel
Bill is an Assistant General Counsel with Student Legal Services at the University
of Florida practicing primarily in the areas of landlord/tenant, consumer, credit,
and insurance law. Prior to joining Student Legal Services, Mr. Mercer practiced
in Tampa, Florida with the law firm of Fuller, Holsonback, Bivins, and Malloy, P.A.
as a commercial litigator. Mr. Mercer received his education from the Stetson University
College of Law (J.D., 1997) and Mercer University (B.A., History, 1994) and is a
member of the Florida Bar.

Jon C. Adcock
Jon graduated from Louisiana State University Law School (J.D.) in 1986 with honors.
He was a member of the Louisiana Law Review and Order of the Coif. He obtained his
undergraduate degree from LSU in 1983 (B.S., General Studies). Mr. Adcock practiced
law in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for over 15 years, primarily in the area of general
civil and commercial litigation, before coming to Florida. He remains a member of
the Louisiana Bar.
Mr. Adcock became a member of the Florida Bar in 2003. He has been an Assistant
General Counsel with Student Legal Services since March of 2004. He advises and
represents students in a variety of legal matters involving landlord/tenant, consumer,
insurance, traffic and criminal cases.
