The University of Florida Student Body Constitution was originally drafted and passed in November, 1967. In the decades since then, it has been updated many times to fit the needs of the modern student body. As changes are deemed necessary, they are written and approved by the legislative branch under strict review.
The Rules and Procedures of the University of Florida Student Senate were initially approved in October, 2000. They are designed as outlines of proper legislative procedure in order to maintain an unbiased and objective perspective for leadership, keep civil decorum in meetings and guide legislative business through the proper channels efficiently. The Rules and Procedures are edited by the Student Senate as needed.
