Bring a date or come with friends for a night exploring love, passion and the forces that move us at Museum Nights on February 19.  From 6-9 p.m. guests at the Harn Museum of Art and the Florida Museum of Natural History will enjoy sweet and spicy treats, live music, dance and much more.

The evening at the Harn starts at 7 p.m. when the alternative rock group The Manor will be playing on the Harn balcony, followed by a performance by the Chris McCarty Band.

Museum Nights is taking part in Black History Month as well with special programming.  Dr. Victoria Rovine, Assistant Professor of Art History, will be presenting a gallery talk discussing the Harn exhibition "Between the Beads: Reading African Beadwork."

Occurring before the gallery talk is a dance performance from Club Creole.  Students from Lake Forest Elementary School will have their art displayed in the classroom of the Harn as well for Black History Month.

The night at the Florida Museum begins with a showing of Across the Universe at 6 p.m.  Dr. Shauna Springer will provide insights into the human heart at 7 p.m. with her lecture entitled "The Science of Love."  Dr Springer, who specializes in adult psychotherapy and marital therapy, will be discussing how we experience love as well as how we express it.

All night long, guests will have the opportunity to sign up for a date-themed raffle.  A photo booth will be set up at the Florida Museum, and Justin Nelson will be entertaining patrons of the Harn with keyboard music.

Museum Nights takes place from 6-9 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month in the UF Cultural Plaza.  The program is funded through Student Government and is run by University of Florida students.

The UF Cultural Plaza is located on the corner of 34th St. and Hull Road, across from Southwest Recreation Center.  More information on Museum Nights can be found at http://www.sg.ufl.edu/MuseumNights.
